Paul R. LaRiviere

A seasoned professional with a 30-year track record, Paul's background encompasses managed network services, performance engineering, optical networking technologies, and next-generation operations support systems. He was instrumental in launching and managing several carrier-class managed network services businesses, which offered rapid service provisioning, integrated network surveillance and intervention, change management, software maintenance and upgrades, and performance trend analysis.

Prior to launching Augury, Paul was Vice President of Systems and Technology at Global Capacity, Inc. (Chicago, IL), the world’s first telecom logistics provider. There he was responsible for global infrastructure including a carrier class network operations center, multiple data centers, and a variety of satellite offices. He has hands-on familiarity with network, monitoring and support software, data center services, server platforms, enterprise applications, storage, desktop, and security facilities and services.

He also spent years as a Managing Consultant at International Network Services (Santa Clara, CA) where he collaborated with executive clients ranging from venture-funded CLEC startups to IT organizations of the Fortune 500. His engagements encompassed delivering capacity planning through discrete simulation modeling, performance analysis and engineering, enterprise and service-provider network management needs assessment, strategic network planning, technology familiarization, process architecture and workflow automation.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Providence College, and pursued graduate studies at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

With over 25 years of operational and financial management experience James has focused on delivering the highest levels of customer satisfaction by developing scalable, repeatable processes that exploit the capabilities of best-in-class resources.

He is principally responsible for the development and delivery of the operational process components of Augury’s consulting practice, encompassing IT Portfolio Planning and Technology Project Management.

Prior to Augury Network Adivisors, James led at Global Capacity, Inc. (Chicago, IL) in their Waltham Data Center in Massachusetts where he was the Director of Network Control Services. In that role, he was responsible for delivering Remote Managed Services and Customer Care for large enterprise and carrier customers. He also held Operational and Financial Management positions at Nortel Networks (formerly Bay Networks) and at Motorola/Codex, the data communications systems unit of technology powerhouse Motorala Inc. (Schaumburg, IL).

A graduate of Salem State College, James holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
